Pedo-Transfer Functions for Predicting Total Soil Nitrogen in Different Land Use Types under Some Tropical Environments

نویسندگان

چکیده

Nitrogen pedo-transfer functions were developed for different land use types, soil depths and agro-ecologies across eight states in Nigeria. The results showed that total nitrogen had a good relationship with the organic carbon; therefore, based on between carbon as other parameters (pH, particle size distribution) little contribution no significant correlation (p>0.05) nitrogen. Correlation forward stepwise regression Kendall’s Coefficient Concordance used to fit validate model datasets than those formulation. R2 of best fitted models varied from 0.77 0.85. We obtained generalized (TN = 0.0736*OC, 0.83) which is independent agroecology types. Significant also arable farms 0.08*OC, 0.85) plantation 0.0698*OC, 0.83). It was discovered variations agro-ecology, use, depth did not significantly affect performance.

Soil Erosion Under Different Land Use and Cover Types in a Marginal Area of Portugal

According to the CORINE programme, Spain and Portugal are the Mediterranean countries in the European Union facing the greatest risk of erosion (Desir & Marín, 2007). In Portugal, areas at high risk of erosion cover almost one third of the country (Grimm et al., 2002). The main causes of soil erosion are inappropriate agricultural practices, land abandonment, deforestation, overgrazing, forest ...

estimation surface soil shear strength by pedo-transfer functions and soil spatial prediction functions

abstract surface soil shear strength is an effective parameter in soil erosion and runoff modeling, and known as soil erodibility index. this study was conducted to investigate and predict soil shear strength in central zagros region using multiple linear regressions (mlr). the study site was selected in rangeland and degraded-rangeland landuse with an area of 23562 ha. based on the maps of geo...

The Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock

Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...

Effects of Land Use and Land Cover changes on Soil Organic Carbon and Total Nitrogen Stocks in the Olesharo Catchment, Narok County, Kenya

Land Use and Land Cover Change (LULCC) is the most prominent cause of Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) variability in any landscape. Kenyan Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) have been facing extensive land use/ cover changes in the last three decades prompting a review on the impacts it has on soil quality and consequently on land degradation. This study was carried out in 2016 in Olesharo Catchment, N...

Soil enzymatic characterization of different soil types under meadow

Studies to the feasibility to characterize soil types by soil microbiological and biochemical analysis focus on the existence of microbial and biochemical characteristics distinctive to individual soil types. Many authors have attempted to elucidate relationships between microbiological and physico-chemical properties of different soil types (DUTZLER-FRANZ, 1977a, b; KHAZIYEV and KHABIROV, 1983...
